MOPS and Me.

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) has played a large part in my story. From my sister praying for me with her MOPS group while I lived in her basement to signing up and attending MOPS at my church when Banks was three months old. But, a pretty awesome thing MOPS can take credit for is my writing.

It was three years ago sitting around my very first MOPS table that I quietly admitted to my table that I had a blog I secretly wrote on. Around this same time I received a mass e-mail from MOPS International calling for writers. I wrote a two sentence blurb about how I heard about MOPS for the first time (in the basement of my sister’s house fighting to get sober) and how after seeing Jesus with flesh on through her and my now, husband I came to begin a relationship with Jesus and began attending MOPS on my own.

I didn’t hear anything back for a long time. But around a year and a half later I received an e-mail asking if I wanted to write a blog post.

Shortly after, one of the amazing women reached out and asked if I’d consider writing a bit about ‘control and surrender’ and coming to headquarters to record it!

While I was recording we spoke briefly about putting something else in the works and I’m more proud than I can describe to share this beautiful film made by Matt Marrs, the creative director at MOPS international on the story Jesus has written with our lives.
